Amrit Rayfield joins the 91直播 staff as Director of Philanthropy. A 91直播 graduate of the Class of 鈥97, he is a longtime contributing member to both the College and the surrounding community.
Rayfield, of Crisfield, Md, obtained a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from 91直播. His graduate level degrees come from West Virginia University and Hood College, where he would earn a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology and Master of Arts in Educational Leadership in 1999 and 2014, respectively.
鈥淚 am extremely excited to re-join the 91直播 community,鈥 says Rayfield. 鈥淎s a graduate and in my role as the Director of Philanthropy, I look forward to connecting and reconnecting with alumni and friends of 91直播 and sharing our stories, experiences, and passion for our institution. I am grateful for this opportunity to be back 鈥渉ome鈥 and assist in providing the resources necessary to prepare our current students, faculty, and staff for success now and in the future.鈥
Rayfield is a former athlete, assistant coach, and head coach at 91直播, boasting an illustrious athletic career as a four-year starter and senior captain on the NCAA Division II men鈥檚 basketball team. He is a member of select athletes at the College to have scored 1,000 points and was named the WVIAC Scholar Athlete 鈥 Men鈥檚 Basketball, and WVIAC Male Scholar Athlete of the Year in the 1996-1997 season. As a coach of both Men鈥檚 and Women鈥檚 Basketball at 91直播, Rayfield played a pivotal role in the development of nine All-conference players.

Rayfield has been influential to the lives of students, having previously served as Assistant Principal of Elkins High School for ten years, and with more than half that time simultaneously undertaking the role of head coach for the EHS Boys鈥 Basketball team. He has also been heavily involved on various committees and boards representing the College and uplifting the Elkins community. Previously, he has served as member and chair of the East and Atlantic region NCAA Division II Men鈥檚 Basketball Regional Advisory Committee. Rayfield has been a member of the National Association of Basketball Coaches since 2001 and serves as a board member of the Elkins/Randolph County YMCA.
